FS2004, Honolulu International Airport, Version 5........................PHNL By: Bill Melichar ******************************************************************************************** Description: This scenery completely redoes the Honolulu Airport, which is the main stop over between the East and West, and the largest airport in the Central Pacific. Included here you will find the main terminal, the Inter-Island terminal, fuel storage tanks, 39 gates with jetways, plus numerous other parking spaces, three different hangar / cargo areas, parking structures and the park like landscaping on the front side of the airport, realistic ramp lights, ramp light parking textures, airport vehicles, the Aloha Tower, and the numerous Coconut Palms which welcome you at every turn at this airport. Due to it's large size, I have provided two scenery density settings, so you can eliminate all objects in front of the airport which are not seen from airside, and balance it between traffic and scenery density to get the best frame rates on your particular computer. This scenery should also be completely compatible with FS2002. ******************************************************************************************** Installation: 1. Extract the zip into your main FS2004 Addon Scenery folder, or into a temporary folder, and then move it there, which ever method you prefer. 2. Start up FS2004 and when the welcome screen, or initial menu comes on, select settings, then click on Scenery Library, and Add Area. Find the Addon Scenery folder and open it, then find the HonoluluV5 folder and click on it. The name HonoluluV5 should now appear in the title window, then click OK. Then you will see HonoluluV5 at the top of your scenery library list, and click the OK tab at the bottom. 3. That's it! You must first exit FS2004, and when you restart it your scenery will be there. It is not necessary to use the Addon Scenery option to locate this scenery, simply go to the airport in FS. ******************************************************************************************** Notes: This is a very large scenery which will consume many frame rates, so I have provided two density settings in order to adjust the scenery for the best results on your computer. If your scenery density is set at dense, you will eliminate most of the objects from the front of the airport which are not seen from the airside, parking structures and trees. It will also eliminate all of the airport vehicles on the airside of the airport. You can then adjust the Traffic settings to work best with your particular computer. When the scenery density slider is set at Very Dense you will get everything that is in the scenery. If you can fly at LAX (Los Angeles International) without any problems, then you should also be able to fly here at full density. There are a few areas of this airport which have problems in FS2004, and I have tried to correct them without success. If you are in a plane they will simply appear as bumps with a lot of water spray. If you are using the Jaguar car to drive around the scenery, these areas will send it into orbit over the airport. They are located at the left side of the airport at the main terminal and Inter Island terminal, and out at the end of the hangar area near the main runway out on the coral reef. ******************************************************************************************** Credits: Bruce Ellison: For the help he has given me with textures, and the Aloha and Honolulu International Airport sign textures on the Aloha Tower. Bruce has just started out in scenery design, and promises to be one of the really great ones out there. His latest release is Saskatoon Airport in Saskatchewan, Canada. Please don't check my spelling on this one! John de Langristin: For the numerous textures he has sent to me to help me with my ever growing library of trees. He also did the car parks at the left side of the terminal behind the main terminal structure, in front of the Inter-Island terminal. Gabriel Concha: For the nice push back tug with the red flashing light. Tom Burnett: For the airport vehicles. Myself: For improving the jetways, which I manufactured mainly for use here and Trinidad's Piarco Airport, which I will hopefully be getting around to upgrading for FS2004 sometime in January. ******************************************************************************************** Contact and Legal: This scenery is freeware, and may not be used in whole or part for profit. Feel free to contact me for whatever reason. I have started a new scenery design screen name which is exclusively for questions, compliments, problems, or anything related to my scenery.
